Registration and Making Appointments
In order to ensure that each member of King Abdulaziz University and its community has an equal opportunity to participate in and receive good-quality consultations, the writing center adopts the following policies:
Writing Center Policies
- How to Make an Appointment?
- Appointments can be made online or in person.
Services Offered
- Individual Consultations (30 minutes): For undergraduate and first year students to receive feedback on written assignments.
- Graduate Writing Consultation (1 hour): For graduate students and faculty members to consult with a writing specialist on research papers and dissertations.
- Proofreading Service: Submit your paper (up to 2000 words) for editing and proofreading. You will receive your paper back within 5 business days.
Appointment Limits
- Students can book a maximum of one appointment per day, with additional appointments subject to availability.
- Students are allowed four appointments per week, unless there is an urgent need and tutors are available.
Cancellation Policy
- Students must notify the Writing Center at least three hours before their appointment if they need to cancel.
- Students who miss three appointments in a semester will be barred from using the Writing Center for the rest of the semester.
Late Arrivals
- If a student is more than 10 minutes late and a walk-in student is waiting, the student will be marked as late and the walk-in student will be seen first.
- If a student is late and there are no walk-in students, the appointment will be recorded as a no-show after 30 minutes.
