How to register and make an appointment?
In order to ensure that each member of the King Abdulaziz University and its community has an equal opportunity to participate in and receive good-quality consultations, the writing center adopts the following policies:
- Making appointments can be on-campus OR online.
- One-to-One Tutoring: 30-minute appointments for Bachelor and PYP Students in which they can sit with a Tutor to check their written assignments/papers.
- Thesis Coach: 1-hour appointments for Graduate Students and Faculty Members in which they can consult with a Thesis Coach according to their writing needs.
- Workshops: 1.5-hour workshops on a specific topic related to academic writing in which Graduate Students, Bachelor Students and Faculty Members can attend according to a set schedule. Check our website for workshops links https://eli-wcenter.kau.edu.sa
- Each student can only book TWO appointment per day. An additional appointment can be made subject to availability.
- FOUR appointments per week are allowed, unless there is an urgent need and tutors are available.
- If the student does not show up for an appointment, he/she could be placed on a warning list.
- Students should notify the AWC (THREE hours before the appointment) in case of absence from the scheduled appointment.
- Students who make appointments but are no-shows three times in a semester are barred from using the AWC for the rest of that semester.
- If students are more than 10 minutes late and a walk-in student is waiting, they are marked ’late’, and the walk-in student is dealt with.
- If a student is late and there are no walk-in students, 30 minutes later the appointment is recorded as a no-show.
